Hair, skin & beauty

One question before you add: what does your current routine already include? Biotin in particular appears in most multivitamins. This collection is a set of alternatives, not a stack. A beauty multivitamin as a foundation, a targeted hair, skin and nails complex, simple biotin gummies, or collagen as a daily powder. Pick the role that's actually missing, and start with one.

How to choose

Choosing hair, skin and nails vitamins

If your nails feel weak or your hair seems thinner than it was, it is fair to wonder whether a supplement is worth it, and the straightforward answer is that none of these is a guaranteed fix. So let me tell you what is actually in each one, and you can weigh it up. Beauty Multivitamin is two capsules a day with 150 micrograms of biotin and iron. Hair, Skin and Nails is also two a day, with a much higher 5,000 micrograms of biotin, plus collagen and omega-3. Between the two, the Beauty Multivitamin sits closer to an everyday multivitamin that happens to include iron, while Hair, Skin and Nails is the more focused of the pair.

Alongside the two beauty formulas, some people add single nutrients. There is an Omega-3 Fish Oil at one softgel a day with 1,100 mg of omega-3, and a Zinc that is two capsules a day with 35 mg of zinc as zinc citrate and vitamin C. If you want the background on either, we have a zinc guide and an omega-3 fish oil guide that go through them in plain terms.

One practical thing worth knowing about the higher-biotin formula: biotin can affect some blood tests, so tell whoever orders your test that you take it. Otherwise, take whichever you choose at the dose on the pack, and give it a fair run of a few weeks before you decide whether it suits you.

Questions people ask

How do I choose between them?

The Beauty Multivitamin is a full daily multivitamin. Hair, Skin & Nails is a focused formula to take alongside a multivitamin. Omega-3 and zinc are single top-ups.

Can I take them together?

Usually yes, but add up the amounts across everything you take, especially biotin and zinc, and check with your GP or pharmacist if you take any medication.

Can I subscribe?

Yes. Choose Subscribe & Save on the product page and each delivery is timed to how long the pack lasts. You can pause, change or cancel whenever you like.

Is it worth taking hair, skin and nails vitamins?

That depends on your diet and what you are hoping for. They can be a reasonable thing to try when your usual eating is patchy, but they are cover rather than a cure, and a varied diet does most of the work.

Do they make hair grow?

We would not promise that. These supplements supply nutrients such as biotin and zinc, but hair depends on a great many things, so treat any product that guarantees growth with caution.

What should I look for on the label?

Check the form of each nutrient and the amount per daily serving, so you know what you are getting rather than going on the front of the pack. With biotin especially, the amount varies a lot between products.
