Vegan Omega-3 DHA from Algae

Omega-3 usually means fish oil, but the DHA itself begins in microalgae, the organism fish eat to get their own supply. Two vegan softgels a day bring it from that same original source, with no fish anywhere in the process.

At a glance

  • DHA straight from algae. Two softgels bring 800mg of DHA, drawn from the oil of marine microalgae, where DHA first comes from.
  • A short, simple list. Algal oil in high-oleic sunflower and MCT oils, with a touch of rosemary extract to help keep it stable, inside a plant-based softgel. It's vegan and gluten-free.
  • The daily ritual. Take two softgels with a meal and a full glass of water. Keeping the bottle by the dinner table makes it part of the evening meal.

Vegan Omega-3 DHA from AlgaeYour top-up
Straight from the source: the algae

DHA begins its life in the sea, in tiny microalgae drifting through the ocean. That's where ours comes from too, and there's something rather lovely about going straight back to the start.

A vegan omega-3 made from algal oil, with 800mg of DHA in every two softgels, drawn from 2,000mg of oil from marine microalgae. It's carried in high-oleic sunflower oil and MCT oil, with a little rosemary extract to help keep the oil stable, all inside a plant-based softgel.

We love how short the story is. There's the algal oil, the two carrier oils, the rosemary and the softgel, and that really is the whole thing.

It's vegan and gluten-free, with no unnecessary fillers, which makes it an easy fit for plant-based, vegetarian and flexitarian kitchens alike.

Take two softgels with a meal and a full glass of water. Plenty of people keep the bottle by the dinner table so it becomes part of the evening meal. It's a lovely daily choice when you'd like a plant-based source of DHA, whether you've been vegan for years, are eating less fish these days, or simply like the idea of an omega-3 that comes straight from the algae.

What it supports: DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision (the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250mg of DHA).

Questions

How do I take it?

Two softgels a day with a meal and a full glass of water.

Does it contain EPA?

It gives 800 mg of DHA per two softgels, from 2,000 mg of algal oil. No EPA is listed on the label.

Is it vegan?

Yes. The DHA comes from microalgae oil, and the softgel is made from modified vegetable starch, glycerin, carrageenan, sorbitol and water.

Can I take it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Check with your midwife, GP or pharmacist first, as the label advises.

Does it need to go in the fridge?

No. Keep it in a cool, dry place, as the label says.

Why is there a UK sticker on the bottle?

The bottle carries its original US label, so we add a UK sticker with the nutrition information in the UK format. Go by the UK sticker.

How do I read the best before date?

It's printed month first, US style. So 03/06/2028 means 6 March 2028.

Can I take it with my other supplements?

Usually, yes. Check the labels so you don't double up on the same nutrient, and never go over the stated dose. If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under medical supervision, check with your GP or pharmacist first.

How long before I notice anything?

Everyone is different. A supplement tops up your diet day after day, so take it every day and give it a couple of months to settle into your routine.

When will it arrive?

Order before 2pm on a working day and we send it the same day. Standard UK delivery is free and takes 1 to 2 working days. Guernsey and Jersey take 2 to 5 working days.

How do returns work?

If it isn't right for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, even if it's opened, and we'll refund you in full. Email support@naturelo.co.uk with your order number and we'll send you a free returns label. The guarantee covers your first order of each product.

How do I change or cancel my subscription?

Log in to your account to change the date or frequency, skip a delivery, pause or cancel. There's no need to call or email us. We'll also email you 3 days before each delivery, so nothing arrives by surprise.
